Dark Sky Stories

COST: Free
Jan. 13, 2017, 7 p.m.

First Nations Dark Sky stories are observations that were shared through story and ceremony; interlinking the sky, the land, and the people with timeless understandings that foster traditional values, strengths, and wisdom. This interactive story telling program will take place inside our tipi with bannock and tea.
Parks Canada Interpreters will be at MarmotMeadows this winter, offering fun interpretive programs for everyone to enjoy.
Join an interpreter around the fire for stories while trying your hand at new skills, like making a fire with flint and steel or cooking bannock on a stick. On some weekends we will even have hot chocolate and S'mores!
Every weekend offers a wildlife camera safari where you will do a bit of hiking or snowshoeing > depending on the conditions. Along the way you can practice wildlife tracking and learn how trail cameras are helping us better understand the park's wildlife.
A traditional tipi will also be set up where Aboriginal programs and cultural teachings will occur in and around the tipi.
